The main objective of this FAO project is to safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and herders in areas affected by desert locust swarms with control operations in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. This FAO project mainly provides 8,150 liters of chemical pesticide, 3,028 kg of biopesticide, 225 protecting clothing kits, 3 surveys equipment kits and 80,000 liters of fuel for spraying and locust surveillance airplanes. The project will last six months and will benefit 10 million people including approximately 2.5 million women and 5 million children.
