Provision of life-saving WASH, Child Protection and Nutrition services for the cyclone affected people in Barguna, Patuakhali, Khulna and Satkhira districts of Bangladesh (20-RR-CEF-039)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving support in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection and nutrition to 250,000 cyclone-affected people in Satkhira, Khulna, Barguna and Patuakhali districts. Through the WASH component, a total of 1,709 water sources were rehabilitated/constructed and disinfected. Moreover, 750 latrines were rehabilitated and equipped with handwashing devices. The child protection provides 28,907 children with psychosocial support and to reunited. 1,015 unaccompanied or separated children with their families, 5). The nutrition program supported the treatment of 514 severely acutely malnourished children and counsels 16,064 caregivers on infant and young child feeding practices, among other activities.284,000 people will benefit from this project, including 62,316 men, 64,804 women, 134,395 children and 11,665 people with disabilities.
