Provision of life-saving WASH, Child Protection and Nutrition services for the cyclone affected people in Barguna, Patuakhali, Khulna and Satkhira districts of Bangladesh (20-RR-CEF-039)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving support in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection and nutrition to 250,000 cyclone-affected people in Satkhira, Khulna, Barguna and Patuakhali districts. This project 1) rehabilitates water points and water sources, 2) rehabilitates disability and elderly-friendly emergency latrines, 3) organizes sessions on hygiene behaviour, 4) provides 13,000 children with psychosocial support and aims to reunite 1,000 unaccompanied or separated children with their families, 5) supports the treatment of 500 severely acutely malnourished children and 6) counsels 16,000 caregivers on infant and young child feeding practices, among other activities. Some 250,000 people will benefit from this project, including 62,316 displaced people, 80,000 women, 103,000 children and 3,500 people with disabilities.
