Ensuring Life-saving Gender-based Violence Assistance to Women and Girls in Drought-Affected Regions of Namibia (20-RR-FPA-002)

Project overview

The main aim of UNFPA’s protection project is to ensure life-saving assistance to women and young people who have suffered or are at risk of gender-based violence in drought-affected regions of Namibia. UNFPA will establish 6 referral pathways for GBV and run 12 information sessions for the prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation, equip 6 health facilities with kits to enable clinical management of rape, procure dignity kits for 6,000 women and girls, including 355 disabled women and girls and 300 people living with HIV/AIDS, and conduct 100 community awareness raising sessions on the prevention, mitigation and treatment of GBV.
