Anticipatory Action to mitigate drought-related protection risks (GBV) (21-RR-FPA-003)

Project overview

The main objective of this $1.7 million UNFPA project is to provide life-saving protection assistance against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) to families at risk of drought impacts in Ethiopia’s Afar, Somali and SNNP regions. To that end, UNFPA will distribute 50,000 dignity kits to mitigate the risks of gender-based violence during drought and conduct 668 GBV awareness raising sessions. The project will support 104,106 people, including 43,540 women and 33,540 girls, and among whom UNFPA estimated to be 5,208 persons with disabilities.
