CERF-funded Project

Anticipatory Action to prevent drought-related child protection risks (21-RR-CEF-006)

Project overview

The main aim of this $500,000 UNICEF Child Protection project is to mitigate drought-related child protection risks. To that end, UNICEF will train community structures on how to prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation. Regional awareness-raising campaigns, through community-led activities, radio programmes and information, education and communication materials, will ensure that drought-affected people are aware of how to mitigate child protection risks, as well as where to report and where to seek support. In total, UNICEF aims to reach 253,587 people, including 46,281 women and 46,195 girls in Afar region with this project.
